SOMATIC SEX EDUCATION with Brigid Blackstone

Come back to the wisdom of your body.

Embodied, educational work for people of all genders and orientations — a place to meet yourself with more choice, sensation, pleasure, and compassion.

There are many ways to arrive here:

“I feel disconnected from my body or sexuality.”

You may feel cut off from your body, your sexual self, or both. We begin by noticing what you feel and what your body is communicating.

“I carry shame around my body, desire, or pleasure.”

Shame around sex and pleasure is common, and it does not mean anything is wrong with you. This is a place to meet it without judgment and begin relating to yourself differently.

“I want to feel more at home in my body.”

You may have spent years feeling uncomfortable, numb, or far away from yourself. We practice slowing down, listening, and being with your body as it is.

“I want to reconnect with desire, sensation, and pleasure.”

Your desire may feel distant, confusing, or changed. We make space to explore sexual energy, sensation, and pleasure without pressure to perform.

“I’m curious about what actually feels good in my body.”

You may not know what kind of touch you enjoy or what brings you pleasure. This is a practice space for finding out, at your pace and in your own body.

“I want to explore boundaries, consent, and communication.”

Consent is something you can feel, not just conceptualized. We practice noticing yes, no, and maybe, and communicating each one clearly.

“I want to practice asking for what I want.”

Naming a desire or sexual need can feel vulnerable. Here, you can practice making clear requests and expressing what you don’t want, too.

“Who am I as a sexual being now?”

After divorce or a breakup following years with the same person, the death of a partner and the grief that follows, menopause, vasectomy, a medication change, or gender transition, what felt familiar may no longer fit. This is a place to discover who you are sexually now.

“Relationship doesn’t feel like a safe place to explore right now.”

You may be post-breakup, choosing celibacy, or carrying complex trauma — and interpersonal relationship may not feel like a safe place to explore your sexuality right now. A clearly held professional relationship can offer the steadiness to begin at a pace that respects your boundaries. It can be practice for dating or lovership again, or simply a way to know yourself more deeply.

Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
